Vacation fill in Palangkaraya

Holiday in the city itself, alias staycation, also can be fun. One of them is currently exploring Palangkaraya. Two years ago, my family moved to Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan. Initially felt heavy, because the town is so quiet compared to my home town, Semarang. Just imagine, there is only one mall in the city. One of my entertainment is green gardens spread throughout the city center. So no need to go all the way to just unwind during the day or enjoy the fresh air.

Earlier this year, when a brother came to visit, I finally took him to enjoy the town Palangkaraya traveled down Kahajan. The journey starts from the bottom Kahayan Bridge, an icon of Palangkaraya to rent a boat that can be filled up to 12 people. Along the river, we could see floating home-cages and cages for fish farming is the source of livelihood of riverside residents Kahayan. Several times we ran into a boat boat people, one of them a mother and a child who seems to have been used to rowing a boat in the swift currents of the river. The boat is a means of transport local community.

On the banks of the river Kahayan we could find lots of food vendors such as fried foods, soup, and others. Interestingly, local customs fried skewered like satai not be enjoyed with cayenne as in Java, but the sauce (tomato or chili sauce) and a nutty flavor. So, just dye it. Although it was felt a little scared, but I also enjoyed the two hour trip down the river Kahayan.
